Breaking News: Unilever Pakistan Kills a Young Boy in their Lame Stunt TV Show

unilever[Aarpix News Exclusive] KARACHI – In their quest to produce a western kind of thrilling and adventurous reality show, Poor and substandard arrangements have become the reason of the killing of a boy Saad Khan. Victim’s cousin Mansoor Khan told Aarpix.

Saad Khan lost his life in the recording of the show when the host Amina Sheikh (the model of Clear Shampoo) gave an under water challenge to him. The boy lost his control and shouted for help but the lame safety and lifeline measures failed to rescue him up and the young man, the father of four had to suffer.

The blame straight goes to the producers of the show which are Unilever and Mindshare for hiring such a sub standard team and the cheap arrangements that became the cause of death of the boy. For now, the mainstream media has rejected to air any such news as they get a fair amount of advertising business from Unilever. And spokespersons of these two companies have been shamelessly calling the incident a mere accident.

Mansoor Khan, the cousin of the victim demands that “ALL CONCERNED PEOPLE OF UNILEVER & MINDSHARE MUST BE PUT BEHIND BARS.”

Mansoor doesn’t want you people to boycott Unilever Products, all he wants is that the culprits who gambled with the life of the participant must be brought to the court of justice.

Updates:

We have re-launched Aarpix forums with an Online Condolence Book for Saad, as a first post on Aarpix.com, I request all of you to join and comment. Here is the link http://aarpix.com/forum/index.php?topic=2.msg3#new

Justice is must!

Mansoor has demanded for justice for the widow, kids, family and relatives with a right attitude by saying not to boycott the products of Unilever but yes, the culprits must be given the punishment.
It’s essential so no more lame shows with meagre or no safety requirements should be made in future for the sake of publicity and maximising profits. This will not only provide the justice in this case but would eventually safe the life’s of innocent victims who could fall pray to such heartless people and organisations.
It’s surprising indeed shocking how come the relevant head of the Unilever, the advertising company and channel launched such a program without reviewing and ensuring the safety measures.

Please do not spread wrong rumours. THis is surely not the true story. I am Saad’s childhood freind. First of all there is no cousin of his who is named mansoor khan. THis Mansoor Khan is surely someone who just likes to exploint situations for his own sake.
If Mansoor Khan is reading this message, please call me on 0097-150-5582159 THis is my dubai number which is working in Pakistan as well.

Fahad Siddiqui is telling the truth. The story has the facts jumbled up. Whoever is exploiting it please come out and tell the truth. This is not a joke, making a story out of the death of a family friend. Aarpix.com please take down this stoy as it is false.

I am his cousin as well from his father’s side and although I don’t know Mansoor, this is a true story. Mr. Siddiqui, we have been greatly saddened by his death and each one of us cannot get over the fact that he’s no longer between us so let’s not call it a false story. You probably know a lot more details but that doesn’t mean this is false. His brother Feroze did say he will file a case ASAP. I just plea to the concerned ones to STOP all such actions in the name of publicity and compensate his widow and kids in every possible way.

I believe that unilever must step up & take responsibility of this unfortunate event! My sincere & heartly condolences to the family of deceased.

Aug 25, 2009 15:02

Sadly this is TRUE… Mr. Naveed Arshad (onwer of production house & oxygene channel) was incharge of production, Mr. Arun Pervani was looking after the production from Broadmind (Mindshare)…
I have confirmed the story from at-least 7 internal sources….No channel was involved…

Umair Mohsin
Aug 25, 2009 15:10

Okay here’s what I’ve dug up.. the show was Clear Men, a production being doen by Naved Arshad.

So the story itself is true. Good going Aarpix. You’re better than our local media anyday….

@Umair Mohsin and @AFK

Thanks for providing us the info, Yes it is confirmed by our internal sources too.

Sadly this is very true. We work for Unilever & we know that there safety & security guidelines are very tight. Broadmind is sister concern of Mindshare Worlwide & Mr. Tahir A Khan of Interflow & TV One has stakes in it.
Unilever signed safety & security checklist from each & every vendor & supplier but they didnt sign in case of Naveed Arshad & Broad Mind Case.
This is very Sad & culprits should be put behind bars NOW!
Justice should be done now , Unilever earn billions from Pakistani people and they have no right to kill countrymen on name of marketing.

The most shameful act of all to me is that NONE of the mainstream media in Pakistan, the so-called Geo, Dawn, Express, Aaj, Duniya, Samaa, CNBC, Business Plus, etc., have covered this news.

The reason is that Unilever is the largest advertiser of Pakistan spending around US $20 million every year and this money goes to all these mainstream media pockets.

Isn’t this hypocrisy or double standards? This same media wouldn’t wait a min before highlighting the smallest of the blasts they hear about any where in Pakistan even without confirmed reports but when a father of 4 dies at the hands of their own client, they are all mum!

They are just western copy cats, with no faith or morale compass but just greed for money.

I just wish to fuck all this guys.

This is true. I know a lot of people working for unilever as well as mindshare. I confirmed with so many people and this story is true. Justice should be made as said above!!

what ever happend happend and is past now they should atleast compensate the family of the deceased , May Allah be with the family of the deceased at this very hard time and we live in Country where there is no law as law can be curved according to your will by means of power and money , lets stand up before its too late

M Magsi
Aug 28, 2009 17:04

It is absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable. I CAN NOT believe the companies using ‘incident’ and ‘mere accident’ to define there ignorance, stupidity and incompetency. The CHEEK for using such cheap and irresponsible words for a person who has lost his life and left behind loved ones.

Pakistani media is very quick at copying the western television programmes but seem that, the quality of health and safety is appalling though appalling doesn’t come close to how I am feelings.

The Project manager, the health and safety team and everyone responsible in arranging conrtracts should be taken to court and made example out of for the rest of the media companies.

Farooq Jalali
Aug 29, 2009 0:39

Its a shame that our media did not report this because they get lot of money from these blue chip companies. I just want Unilever to pay compensation for the family for the rest of thier life as they cannot replace the life lost atleast they can do this.
They have a social responsibility to do so

Saqib Saeed
Aug 29, 2009 11:19

Truly hurt by the situation. Justice should realy be the call of the time and unilever personnel should be taken to court and probed for their negligence

S.Ahmed
Aug 29, 2009 11:24

I think M Magsi is right Pakistani media is very quick to copying without even seeing their health and safety measures, They only concentrate on profits not on preparations and try to reduce the investments.

This is very Sad & culprits should be put behind bars ASAP.

My heartly regards and prays to saad khan.. may Allah almighty bless him.

In the above case it is about time some action is taken against the responsible people.
Uniliver, Mindshare, and owner of the production house they are all equally responsible for the death.
However it is to make clear that Mr. Naveed Arshad do not own a TV channel by the name of Oxygene it is owned by some one from Islamabad.
He makes content for the channel and falsely claims to be the owner.

Inna Lillahi wa Inna Lillahi ragi’oon!!!
this is the problem with bog shots. they do crime and then no one asks or judges them. And when people try to get revenge themselves (Due to Injustice) then they are called as the corrupted.

Unilever must be responsible for this and must be be brought to justice!

Khalid Al-Adawy

Our Holy prophet Muhammad S.A.W said, if you see injustice, or anything wrong infront of you, try to stop it with your hands. and if you cant, then stop it with your toungue, and even if you are not able to do that, then the least you can do is curse them in your hearts! Allah S.W.T will hold them accountable for everything in the day of Judgment! i pray Allah to give patience (Sabar) to the family of the victim.. Amin..

We will wait for a while and see how unilever responds to it. If they did go the legal way and did not bear their social responsibility we will start a boycott their products campagin against them by making comics on each of their products and making… spoof ads of each of their products to help build the awareness and aid the boycott.

Here is a glimpse of what we are going to do.

I was at the burial. Two of his boys(twins) aged about 6 years had climbed on the shoulders of some close relation and waived GOODBYE to their father hardly realizing as to what had passed. It was so heart rendering that everybody’s eyes filled …up with tears. UNILEVER seems to be comfortable with some legal bla bla which they are so sure of being foolproof. I don’t know if some prominent lawyer practicing on international level would like to take up the challenge to get square with UNILEVER.
